TOM SUPPORTS ECHONIA ON HIS SOLO ROTTO SWIM

Tom's Solo Rotto Swim

"I think it's safe to say my fitness hit an all time low during my first year at uni. In hindsight this was probably quite predictable given I'd swapped all the time I used to spend exercising with sinking beers.

I definitely owe it to my friends for organising a social touch rugby team at UWA, as for a long time this was the only exercise I did. Social touch was the only form of exercise that I actually found enjoyable as it felt more like a 'catch up with mates' than a 'work out'. Eventually I found that one night a week wasn't quite 'scratching the itch' anymore and I managed to weasel myself in multiple social touch teams playing over multiple nights.

While I do a lot more solo exercise now, I definitely owe it to social sport for getting me started again and bringing my fitness to the point where other forms of exercise became enjoyable. As such, when picking a charity for the swim, Echonia felt like the perfect fit." - Tom
